Vallouise
The "Rocher Pointu"
A, relatively easy circuit walk that starts in the centre of the village of Vallouise and has a magnificent panorama over the valley and the summits of the Écrins. In hot, sunny weather conditions we advise against doing this walk in the afternoon!
The walk goes through a pine forest that leads to the Rocher Pointu (pointed rock). A short climb to get to the edge of the Rocher, where a clearing awaits you along with a bird's eye view of Pelvoux and Vallouise. The summits are visible on the horizon.
The vegetation in the pine woods is very Mediterranean with lots of lavender in particular.
The return walk follows a footpath over limestone scree and joins the pine forest. From there it leads to La Casse and the centre of Vallouise.
